VLC for iOS lands on Cydia

We had a feeling that this would happen and we have been proven right. VLC for iOS, which was earlier removed from the App Store because of the app causing license issues and breaking App Store policy has now landed on Cydia.

Ryan Petrich, an iOS developer did the VLC for iOS lovers a huge favor by hosting the app on his beta repository at Cydia. Ryan wasn’t approached by the app developers and he went about hosting it at his repo in the following way:

I took their source, patched it to work out of /Applicationa, compiled it, built a deb package and threw all of it online (none of which I need their permission for under the GPL).

Since the app is now hosted at Cydia, you will need to have a jailbroken iDevice for which the following guides would suffice:
